Hymenoplasty is the reconstruction of hymen and local cuts from the vaginal wall. Although controversial, this procedure is done due to variety of reasons – from society pressures through purely personal requests with intension to improve sexual life and make it more interesting with a partner, to much more serious – as part of the healing and recovery process in raping victims.
Preparation
As in reparation procedure no anesthesia is necessary, the analysis required by the surgeon and the aneshesiologist – in most cases are only laboratory tests.

With the surgical procedure and in most cases redisigned cuts of the vagina wall, the hymen is restored as well as the ’virginity’.
Recovery and results
The patient can return to her normal activities imediately and the recovery period usually requires antibiotics during the first week.

Possible complications
Swelling, mild pain, uncomfort and redness that disappear quickly are possible.
