Abdominoplastic surgery tends to correct the excessive skin and fat tissue in the abdominal area. Usally patients decide for this procedire after major weight loss, pregnancy or in elder age when regular workouts and diets are not helpful.
Preparation
The surgery is done in general anesthesia, all tests recommended by surgeon and anesthesiologist are required – in most cases are all laboratory tests with internist examination and ECG.
Surgery
The physician makes horizontal incision in bikini line above the pubic area and in depth up to the front abdominal muscle. Excessive skin and fat are removed and if necessary the belly button is transferred to a higher position. Thigh and hips liposuction can be done during the same procedure, as well as front abdominal wall strengthening – which is needed in most cases in woman who had few pregnancies.
The surgery lasts 2-4 hours.
Recovery and results
Usually it is necessary to drain the excess fluid and the drains are removed within 2-3 days. Stitches are removed between the 10th and the 14th day.
During the recovery period, at least one month, it is important to avoid hard physical activities and it is necessary to wear a special compression garment.
The result can be noted immediately but the final result appears when the compression garment is left aside.
Possible complications
In rare cases keloidal scars may appear in patients prone to it as well as abdominal wall swelling with prolonged liquid collection and leaking in the area.
Mr sc. med. Vladimir B. Stojiljkovic is a pioneer in regenerative surgery in our country – with scientifically based approach he gained a lot of experience in fat transfer, stem cells and growth factors extracted from thrombocyte enriched plasma. Hi was first in our country to do a natural breast enhancement, using patients own fat tissue and BRAVA method for enlargement.
