Labioplasty usually refers to the inner lips correction, in terms of their reduction and color correction – dark edges removal to make them look youthfull and pinkish.

Such reduction can be done to correct the length and the size and usually is done for 2 reasons: functionality (inconvenience during sex) or aesthetic (mostly for rejuvenation).

Priparation

As there is no need for general anesthesia, the only required analysis by the surgeon and the aneshesiologist – in most cases are the laboratory tests.

Procedure

There are 2 approaches in this procedure where in the first one the inner labia edges are cut in order to create a more youthfull and pinkish look, and in the second one the excessive tissue is removed and parts are attached in a V shape, leaving only a small scar.

The physician decides of the approach, depending on patients necessities.

Recovery and results

A few weeks after the procedure it is important to take special hygienic care of the treated area, and avoid all activities that may cause sweating or heating. Sexual apstinency is also required in the first few weeks.

Results are imediately noticed, but are considered permanent once the swelling disappears.

Possible complications

Temporary swelling and inconvenience during urination, due to swollen area are felt, but  they dissapear in a matter of days.

Also, there is a risk of visible scar, hypersensibility and pigmentation changes in the scar area.
