A buttock correction procedure usually considers the enlargement or lifting of the glutei area with silicone implants or by fat grafting. The reduction and lifting of the same area is explained in the liposuction/liposculpture part.
As the surgery is done in general anesthesia, all tests recommended by the surgeon and the anesthesiologist are required – usually laboratory tests with internist examination and ECG.
Implants are placed through a small vertical incision in the upper part of the gluteal furrow, right under the coccyx bone and such incision is the same for both sides. Augmentation is done through the incision in space under the gluteal muscle. A much simpler way of buttock augmentation is by fat grafting, patient’s own fat tissue that is collected from body parts with excessive fat, and after being processed it is injected back in desired areas.
Recovery and results
The recovery period lasts a few weeks and requires avoiding long sitting and hard activities that activate the gluteal muscle.
Results are immediately noticed, but considered final once the swelling disappears. In fat grafting, results are less predictable in patients due to unpredictable and different resorption of fat.
Swelling, bruises, inconvenience to sit and in rare cases, high positioning of the implant or cyst appearance as a consequence of excessive quantity of fat injected in the desired area may appear.
Mr sc. med. Vladimir B. Stojiljkovic is a pioneer in regenerative surgery in our country – with scientifically based approach he gained a lot of experience in fat transfer, stem cells and growth factors extracted from thrombocyte enriched plasma. Hi was first in our country to do a natural breast enhancement, using patients own fat tissue and BRAVA method for enlargement.
